Teen student and substitute teacher BRAWL inside Miami high school classroom in wild video – The Sun
A HIGH school student pummeled a substitute teacher and threw her to the ground in a vicious attack caught on video.
The Instagram video shows the teenage girl throwing punches at the female teacher before trapping her against a desk inside a classroom at Miami Central Senior High School on Monday.
That's when the educator yanks the teen by her long hair and places her in a headlock.
Video shows the woman trying to pin the 10th grader against the desk.
Moments later, the student shoves the female sub, causing her to lose her grip before she's body-slammed to the ground moments later.
A male student quickly pushes his classmate off the sub, who then pins the student to the ground as she tries to kick her way out of the restraint.
Students are seen inside the classroom recording the brawl on their cellphones in the minute-and-a-half long clip.
"Oh! Oh!" shouted some, while others laughed and continued to record the shocking spectacle.
The video doesn't show how the fight started.
Miami-Dade County Public Schools said the student wasn't supposed to be in the classroom at the time and didn't disclose her age.
The school district said they believe the student provoked the altercation.
"All indicators point to the student having been the aggressor," Daisy Gonzalez-Diego, chief communications officer for MDCPS, told the Miami Herald.
Miami-Dade Schools Police is investigating the assault, which MDCPS called "regrettable" and "unfortunate."
"This is a regrettable and isolated incident between a student and a teacher, who otherwise maintained an amicable relationship," the district said in a statement to WSVN.
"It is evident the employee used great restraint to de-escalate the situation.
"As a result of her unacceptable behavior, the student will be disciplined according to the Code of Student conduct and may be facing criminal charges."
