Arsenal player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has divided car fans’ opinions by having his £2million classic red LaFerrari wrapped in chrome. 

Car refurbisher Yianni Charalambous revealed that the 30-year-old striker had decided to have the ‘definitive’ Ferrari modified, saying the choice was going to strongly divide opinions.   

Mr Charalambous said the 217mph supercar was perhaps the ‘best car ever’ to be wrapped at his workshop in Enfield, north London, adding that ‘if you know Auba he doesn’t like things normal’.  

‘This is going to be a massive love and hate,’ the car modifier said.

But Aubameyang, who is also captain of the Gabon national team, said: ‘Hate me or love me… We don’t g a f***’. 

Mr Charalambous posted an image of the footballer’s car partly wrapped in chrome – and fans were divided over the decision to change the car’s classic red appearance. 

One said: ‘It is each to their own I guess! I love the laf I just think they could have picked a better colour.’

Another said: ‘I want to hate the wrap on the Laf… but I kinda like it.’

Comments included ‘do not wrap a LaFerrari’; ‘how to ruin a LaFerrari’; ‘didn’t think ruining a laf was possible’ and ‘Noooooooooooooo what an awful choice on the Ferrari’

While a third simply stated: ‘You have ruined the Laf.’ 

Other comments included ‘do not wrap a LaFerrari’; ‘how to ruin a LaFerrari’; ‘didn’t think ruining a laf was possible’ and ‘Noooooooooooooo what an awful choice on the Ferrari’. 

In August, before the vehicle was modified, Mr Charalambous posted a picture of the car on Instagram, asking fans to guess what what colour the Arsenal forward had chosen.

Predictions included gold, pink, chocolate brown, satin black and ‘Batman themed’ – but many commenters correctly predicted the car would be turned chrome.   

One response said: ‘Not quite sure what colour he’s going for but I know it’s going to be something that is out there and loud’.
