Michael Jackson axed from Motown 60 TV special in wake of Leaving Neverland child sex claims

Nearly all mention of The King of Pop was airbrushed from the Motown 60 show – which celebrates six decades of the iconic Motown Records Label.

He featured in a brief round-up of deceased Motown artists – but neither he nor the Jackson 5 appeared at any other point despite flogging millions of records.

The show featured acts from Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, and Smokey Robinson.

But show bosses refused to reference Jackson – failing to even mention him debuting the iconic Moonwalk dance at the Motown 25 show.

It comes after the controversial Leaving Neverland documentary made bombshell new sex abuse claims against the deceased star.

The documentary details claims from Wade Robson, a choreographer who says Jackson began abusing him when he was 7, and James Safechuck, a former child actor who says the singer began molesting him when he was 10.

The four-hour film – which accuses the star of sickening child sex crimes – aired to stunned audiences at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah last week.

The blanking is the latest incident in the backlash against the pop legend, coming just days after a wax statue of the pop legend was taken down from the Roedovre Centrum mall in Copenhagen after 15 families complained.
