Mich. Woman Who Vanished in 2016 Is Presumed Dead, and Imprisoned Sex Criminal Is Charged
More than 27 months since Michigan woman Danielle Stislicki disappeared, a man previously declared a person of interest has been charged with her presumed murder.
On Monday, a charge of premeditated first-degree murder was filed in Farmington Hills against Floyd Russell Galloway Jr., 32, according to online court records.
Stislicki has not been seen since she left her office in Southfield the night of Dec. 2, 2016, when she was supposed to stop home before meeting a friend for dinner. She never made the dinner and failed to show up for work the next morning. Authorities previously said they believe Stislicki — who was 28 when she vanished — is dead.
Her Jeep was found the morning after she went missing, parked outside her residence in Farmington Hills. Inside the vehicle was her purse with all of her credit cards.
Galloway, 32, was employed by a company contracted to provide security for MetLife, where Stislicki worked at the time of her disappearance.
Those who know Stislicki previously told PEOPLE she was “friendly” and a “people person” — traits someone may have taken advantage of.
“If she would have gotten out of her car at her apartment building and if someone was there and asked her for help, she would have been that outgoing person who would give someone directions or help someone find a lost pet,” speculated Holly Juip, her cousin. “It’s just heartbreaking to think about … I can’t even imagine the terror her parents must be feeling, not knowing what’s happened to her.”

In July 2017, Galloway was named a person of interest in the case when police searched for him in an unrelated attack on a female jogger, which occurred two months before Stislicki vanished.
Ultimately, in the case of the female jogger, Galloway was caught and pleaded guilty in November 2017 to kidnapping, criminal sexual conduct-assault with intent to commit sexual penetration, and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder by strangulation, The Detroit News reports.
It was not immediately clear if Galloway has entered a plea or retained an attorney who could comment on his behalf for the recent charges.
A spokesperson for the Farmington Hills Police Department did not immediately return PEOPLE’s request for comment.
