Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's pal Tom Bradby claims Palace warned them they 'weren't part of slimmed down monarchy'

MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry were warned of plans for a "slimmed-down monarchy" before they quit, journalist pal Tom Bradby claims.

The ITV News reporter also claimed the Palace were not "blindsided" by the couple's bombshell announcement they were stepping down as senior royals.

Insiders have revealed the Queen, Prince William and Prince Charles only found about their decision minutes before it broke online.

Bradby, who fronted last year's documentary, Harry and Meghan: An African Journey, told ITV News: "It's certainly not true to say the palace were blindsided by this.

"The couple's view was they came back and wanted to talk to the family about their plans.

"It had been made clear to them in their absence there was going to be a slimmed down monarchy and they weren't really a part of it."
