Areas in Britain with the most £1MILLION homes from Bristol to Edinburgh

Zoopla has comprised a list of the areas with the highest number of properties worth over £1million.

Unsurprisingly, London has the most property millionaires, with 395,871 £1million homes in the capital.

Guildford is the individual town with the most expensive houses at 5,615, just ahead of Cambridge at 5,426.

Third is Sevenoaks at 5,188, with 4,889 in St Albans and Edinburgh coming in fifth with 4,818.

Oxford has 4,791, while Bristol has 4,764.

The South East of England has 171,454, while the East of England is home to 76,077.

FALLING NUMBERS

Cobham in Surrey has the highest proportion of £1million homes, with 44.3 per cent of properties in the town valued at more than this sum.

Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire is just behind it, with 44.2 per cent of its homes worth over £1million.

The research found that the number of British property millionaires has fallen by 35,000 during the past year.

A total of 733,777 homeowners now have a house valued at £1million or more, down from 768,553 in 2018.

The East of England saw the biggest growth, with 6,237 new property millionaires created in the region.

In North West England and Yorkshire and The Humber the number of £1m-plus homes increased by 329 and 203.

Wales had the fewest property millionaires at just 2,373 but 150 new property millionaires were created.

Annabel Dixon, spokesperson for Zoopla, said: “It’s hard to ignore the overall decline in million-pound properties in the past 12 months. But it’s clear to see the majority of this decline resides in London.

“Outside of the capital, there has been significant growth in seven-figure properties, especially in the East of England and West Midlands.”
