During the latest instalment of Sunday Brunch, Channel 4 hosts Simon Rimmer and Tim Lovejoy invited their guests Ellie Taylor, Adrian Lester and KSI into the studio. The presenters also spoke with MP Jess Phillips via video link and Sigala. However, viewers quickly became distracted when Simon began his first cooking demonstration.

Simon decided to serve up a dish of charred aubergine for his guests.

However, some viewers were left unimpressed as many claimed the dish was burnt.

Others were so horrified by the dish they said it belonged in the bin.

“Burning described as “charred” again…,” one viewer penned as another questioned: “Charred? Cremated Simon.

A third said: “Yes, Simon, that food is definitely ‘charred’. In other words, it belongs in the bin. Stop wasting food.

“Burnt aubergine, burnt sweet corn,” a fourth sarcastically wrote. “Top with yogurt and syrup. Delicious.”

A fifth tweeted: “That would be heading straight for my bin.”

“Charred aubergine? I’ve binned less burnt bbq food,” a sixth wrote.
