    MORNING UTD FANS

Manchester United’s players enjoyed some downtime with their families after clinching a place in the FA Cup final.

Erik ten Hag’s side beat Brighton on penalties at Wembley on Sunday to set up a clash with bitter rivals Manchester City on June 3.

And they were given the day off on Monday as several stars were spotted relaxing with their loved ones.

Club captain Harry Maguire, who was suspended for the semi-final, was snapped outside a jewellers.

Right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka enjoyed some food with pals in Wilmslow, Cheshire, while defender Brandon Williams also had a bite to eat.

And midfielder Fred went for lunch with his family at Cibo – sporting a Drake t-shirt for good measure.

Meanwhile, Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has been offered to Man Utd, reports Fabrizio Romano.

The Englishman could leave his boyhood club this summer with the club looking to trim their bloated squad and Mount is yet to agree a new deal with his expiring in 2024.

Man Utd are supposedly aware of his situation but Liverpool remains his most likely destination.

Finally, Bruno Fernandes is an injury doubt for Man United’s next two games, writes SunSport’s Neil Custis.

The Portuguese playmaker needed crutches and a protective boot following Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final triumph.

Fernandes twisted his right ankle in the first-half of the 7-6 penalty shootout win over Brighton at Wembley.

The midfielder’s wife Ana Pinho posted a picture of the midfielder on Instagram with his bandaged foot raised on three cushions.

    Vidic on Rooney and Ronaldo

Manchester United icon Nemanja Vidic has claimed Wayne Rooney failed in comparison to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Vidic played alongside both players at Old Trafford and saw their careers progress from an early age.

The former United captain was full of praise for Ronaldo and the dedication he showed to improve and achieve success in the game.

And he believes Rooney had the talent to match but lacked Ronaldo's mentality in terms of looking after his body and putting in extra hours on the training pitch.

In appearance on Rio Ferdinand's Vibe with Five podcast, Vidic said: "You see Cristiano [Ronaldo] on Instagram, it's all flashy stuff but he deserves it.

"At his age, 18, 19, to 21 to have that mentality to work hard, not go out, fight for your dream, the way he did it he deserves everything he got. For me, Wayne Rooney, he failed in terms of that.

"He is the one I think, if he was closer in mentality as Cristiano Ronaldo he can achieve much more. Definitely, that is my feeling.

"Physically he was amazing, technically as well. He is a great teammate on the pitch, him and Carlos Tevez, as a defender you want them on the pitch, they worked hard for the team.

"In one moment they are similar, the same. What brought Cristiano Ronaldo much higher was his mentality to change, to work hard, to improve, to have goals.

"I'm not saying Wayne didn't have a mentality, but he played pure on his talent. He didn't invest in his body, invest in extra training, the physical side."

    Man Utd promote teenage starlet

Red Devils youngster Willy Kambwala was promoted to first-team training on Tuesday.

The 18-year-old centre-back was only recently included in the Red Devils' U23s side.

But he has already impressed enough to force Erik ten Hag into having a closer look at him.

Kambwala arrived at Old Trafford from Sochaux for £3.5million in September 2020.

And he has entered the fray at a time when Man Utd are stretched at centre-back.

    FA Cup final kick-off time

The FA Cup final is set to revert to its traditional kickoff slot – for the first time in 12 years.

Manchester City’s potential treble-chasing FA Cup Final with neighbours United is now poised for a 3pm start on June 3 after police intervention.

And the knock-on effects are also to include the Epsom Derby field going to the stalls later than scheduled the same afternoon.

ITV is screening both the Epsom showpiece and – alongside the BBC – the Wembley clash on June 3.

But while it had been expected the FA Cup Final would start at 5.30pm, Metropolitan Police made it clear the "high-risk" match had to begin earlier.

There were also concerns about fans getting back to the north west by train.

That has seen the game switched back to 3pm.

It will be the first time since City beat Stoke – on the same day United won the Premier League title in 2011 – that the FA Cup final has kicked off at 3pm.

    Maddison in Wan-Bissaka praise

Leicester and England star James Maddison heaped praise upon Aaron Wan-Bissaka during United's FA Cup win over Brighton on Sunday.

He tweeted: "AWB is ridiculously good at 1 v 1 defending. Probably the best in the world bar none.

"So many wingers run out of ideas when playing directly against him."

    Mitoma praises Man Utd ace

Kaoru Mitoma had praise for FA Cup opponent Aaron Wan-Bissaka and admitted a "complete defeat" in their individual battle.

As quoted by One Football, the 25-year-old said: "I regret that I didn't score a goal despite having a few chances to do so.

"And it's difficult to score penalties so I think I could have done something more before that.

"I also need to improve. [Wan-Bissaka] is a strong opponent … this is what I thought while I was playing. But there were a lot of [times] where his legs stretched at the end or he got the ball back.

"I think it was a complete defeat."

    Gavi transfer plans confirmed

Manchester United transfer target Gavi has confirmed his future plans, according to reports.

And it is bad news for the Red Devils in their pursuit of the Spanish sensation.

Chelsea, Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also been monitoring the situation.

But Sport report Gavi sat down with Xavi and told them the Barcelona boss wants to stay put at the Nou Camp.

Xavi apparently reassured the youngster he "cannot imagine his midfield without Gavi" in their private conversation.

And despite ongoing issues with the contract saga, the midfielder is said to be fully committed to the cause.

Manchester United's new home shirt has been reportedly leaked.

And fans are furious with the alleged design, as one raged: "What have we done to deserve these kits year after year?"

A version of the apparent 2023-24 home kit circulated on social media.

The red shirt has a strange subtle snakeskin-style pattern across it, a V-neck and black and white trim.

    Vidic makes Woodward dig

Nemanja Vidic left former Manchester United teammate Rio Ferdinand in stitches.

That’s after aiming a cheeky dig at ex-Red Devils chief Ed Woodward.

When asked if he had any regrets at United, Vidic joked: “The only thing I have as a regret is that I didn’t have Ed Woodward in my time.”

This caused Ferdinand to burst out laughing, with Vidic adding: “Why are you laughing?”

Ferdinand answered: “Because of money. You’re talking money and contracts.”

The duo then high-fived, with Vidic continuing: “You know what I am talking about. But do I regret it?

“David Gill and Fergie were at the club, trying to set up the levels of salaries, structure — what they have now, what they are going to get, what you have to do to get there

    Elbowing assistant to return

Linesman Constantine Hatzidakis is set to return to action following his encounter with Andy Robertson.

Hatzidakis had been suspended pending an investigation after his alleged elbow against Robertson in Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Arsenal on April 9.

But the FA announced earlier this month they would be taking no further action against Hatzidakis.

Hatzidakis also released a statement of his own revealing he had directly spoken to Robertson to apologise about the incident.

He will return for the first time as an assistant ref during Manchester United's crunch clash with Aston Villa on Sunday.

Man Utd have reportedly sent scouts to watch Porto's star goalkeeper Diogo Costa.

The Red Devils are believed to be interested in signing a new shot-stopper to replace veteran David De Gea.

Now, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola, United are looking at Costa as a potential replacement.

The report has suggested that he has a £66million release clause.

De Gea's contract at United expires at the end of the season, but he is set to sign a new deal on lower wages.

    Get Kane'd

Former Manchester United star Dion Dublin has urged the club to snub a move for Harry Kane and go for his England team-mate.

Dublin, who played 15 times for Man Utd, thinks that the club should instead go for Brentford captain Ivan Toney.

He insists that the 19-goal man will only improve if he joins the club and he suits Erik ten Hag's style.

However, Toney's betting breaches could prevent United making a move.

    Sesko scouted

Man Utd and Newcastle have sent scouts to watch Benjamin Sesko, according to reports.

Sesko, 19, has long been attracting interest from a number of European giants.

However, Sesko already has a transfer arranged from current club RB Salzburg to sister team RB Leipzig.

Leipzig struck a £20million agreement over the move last summer.

But according to 90min, this has not deterred scouts from continuing to monitor his progress.

It has previously been reported Leipzig could be bought out of the deal with a substantial enough transfer offer from another team such as Man Utd and Newcastle.

    Al going wrong

Cristaino Ronaldo has suffered more woe in Saudi Arabia after Al-Nassr were knocked out of King Cup by 10-man relegation strugglers.

Ronaldo's side were beaten by Al Wehd – who sit two places above the drop zone and played with ten men from the 53rd minute.

It comes after Al-Nassr were knocked off the top of the league following defeat to Al Hilal with Al-Ittihad leading the way.

Al-Nassr are also out of the Saudi and Riyadh Super Cups.

Ronaldo's anger was on full display after a 2-0 loss to Al-Hilal, with ex-United striker Odion Ighalo scoring twice.

The legendary striker was also shown a yellow card for a hilarious WWE-style headlock on Gustavo Cuellar.

He then courted controversy by appearing to make an obscene gesture towards fans, leading to calls for Ronaldo to be DEPORTED for public indecency.

While exiting the pitch, the Portugal legend had been greeted by jeers and chants of “Messi, Messi” by Al-Hilal supporters.

    Can't get past AWB

According to WhoScored, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has only been dribbled past once in the Premier League this season.

The right-back started well out of favour under Erik ten Hag, who was open to letting him leave in the summer.

But the ex-Crystal Palace man has nailed down a place in recent months and has become a vital member of the squad, especially given defensive injuries.

He is supposedly still on the radar of his former club and West Ham if United are willing to sell.

Reports in Argentina claim the teen striker, 18, has decided to turn out for his country.

Man United face rivals Man City on June 3 and the date clashes with the knockout stages of the youth tournament which kicks off on May 20 in Garnacho's homeland.
