THIS Cheltenham Festival punter faces a nerve-shredding wait to see if he will win over half a million quid from just £22.

The bettor posted his astonishing bet slip – which features three big favourites – on Facebook.

There was no cash out option available but the offer from bookies would almost certainly be in the hundreds, meaning he could make a very tasty profit without any of the horses even running.

The punter showed their ability to predict the future by choosing horses in a four-fold.

And one fan even commented asking if they could borrow the bettor's crystal ball after they somehow found three favourites at giant odds.

The punter stands to win so much because the horses they backed at big prices have since shortened massively.

If he backed them at their current prices with the same stake they would win a comparatively paltry £4,225.

First on the list is Vauban, who the punter picked out at 25-1 but is now a general 2-1 joint-favourite for Triumph Hurdle.

They also found Facile Vega for the Champion Bumper at 20-1.

The Willie Mullins-trained superstar is now 10-11 to win that race, with American Mike the closest market rival at around 3-1.

Allegorie De Vassy was a simply stunning spot at 25-1.

That horse is now into as short as 9-4 for the Mares' Novice Hurdle.

Agonisingly, it is the final horse of the bet who could scupper the whole thing.

And, even worse, the punter needs them to run in the first race of the whole meeting and win it to keep the dream of the jackpot alive.

They selected State Man to win the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at 33-1.

The Mullins horse is now into around 12-1 for the race, but it is an extremely hot contest with the likes of Constitution Hill, Jonbon, Dysart Dynamo and Sir Gerhard all vying for favouritism.

And, crucially, State Man is also entered in the Ballymore and is currently at shorter odds of around 9-1 for that race.

Still, should State Man get off to a flyer then the punter can dream of landing a £563,724 windfall from just £22.

Fellow bettors were blown away by the slip.

One said: "Holy mother of God! Can I borrow your crystal ball please?

"Outstanding bet sir, probably one of the best there is at those prices."

While another posted: "Now that's a life-changer right there."
