Arsenal target Mauro Icardi signs new Inter Milan contract with a huge £98m release clause
MAURO ICARDI has penned a new lucrative contract at Inter Milan with a massive £98million release clause ending speculation over his future.
Arsenal were keen admirers of the Argentine striker this summer and launched several offers to lure the talented hotshot to the Premier League.
But with wife and powerful football agent Wanda Nara the brains behind a new deal, Inter have confirmed that Icardi has signed a new contract until 2021.
Nara told Infobae: "I've earned Mauro much more money. We've put in clauses and new conditions.
"If a club want to buy him, they'll have to pay the clause of €110m. We adjusted the contract and extended it for five years, which is the maximum possible."

The 23-year-old has shown exactly why Arsene Wenger wanted him this summer by starting the season with six goals in his opening seven matches.
Wenger had reportedly made an offer in the region of £30million for Icardi in the summer and then tried to chuck in Olivier Giroud as part of the deal.
Inter rejected the offers and have now deterred Arsenal making any more bids by slapping a £98m release clause in his contract.
Icardi wrote himself into Inter Milan history books as he overtook Brazilian Ronaldo's tally of Serie A goals.
He netted his 49th and 50th in the Italian top flight in a game against Pescara in September.
