Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visit an equestrian centre in Rabat

Horsing around! Dressed-down Meghan recycles £185 jacket from her pre-royal days as she and Prince Harry visit an equestrian sports centre in Rabat on the couple’s final day of their tour

  • Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are completing their final day of engagements in Rabat, Morocco   
  • They are visiting the Moroccan Royal Federation of Equestrian Sports in the city this morning 
  • They will later get a chance to grab a bite to eat when they take part in a cookery class with local children
  • Meghan looked casual in a pair of jeans and a nautical striped top for her engagements today
  • The couple will travel to Rabat airport later this afternoon where they will fly back to London  

Heavily-pregnant Meghan cut a casual figure in jeans and a Breton t-shirt as she arrived at an equestrian sports centre with Prince Harry on the couple’s final day in Morocco. 

The mother-to-be, who has been seen in a variety of brand new designer pieces of late, chose to recycle an old jacket today.

She paired her ensemble with a £185 khaki anorak by J Crew that she has previously been pictured wearing during the early days of her relationship with Harry and while she was still living in Toronto.

Meghan wore her brunette locks in a sleek ponytail as she and Harry arrived hand in hand at the stables.

And while she certainly opted for a more dressed down look this morning the Duchess added a little glamour to her ensemble in the form of a pair of heeled black ankle boots. 

The couple arrived to an unusual welcome committee in the form of the horses, who poked their heads out of their stables upon their arrival.  

Animal-lover Meghan was eager to say hello with she and Harry seen petting the horses ahead of their tour of the equine centre.  

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are visiting the Moroccan Royal Federation of Equestrian Sports to learn more about Morocco’s developing programme of supporting children with special needs through equine therapy. 

And while the royal couple will not be saddling up themselves they will watch a riding demonstration as well as taking part in a  horse grooming session this morning.

The visit will also see Harry and Meghan meet young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who have benefited from the programmes at the centre as well as a mental health charity and individuals involved. 

Following their visit to the equine centre the couple will be given the opportunity to grab a bite to eat when they attend a cookery demonstration at Villa des Ambassadors.

Meghan, 37, and Harry, 34, will join children from under-privileged backgrounds in Rabat where they will learn traditional Moroccan recipes from one of Morocco’s foremost chefs.

It seems that they pair will be celebrating Shrove Tuesday early as they are set to make pancakes with the children today. 

The Duke and Duchess will meet disabled children who are working in a specially-designed restaurant in Rabat, as well as view local artisan cookery-ware. 

Their final engagement of the day will see the royal couple attend a Social Entrepreneurs event and market in the Andalusian Gardens.

The Duke and Duchess will hear about youth empowerment in Morocco from a number of young social entrepreneurs. 

The parents-to-be will see traditional Moroccan arts and crafts on display in the walled public garden amid exotic plants, flowers and fruit trees. The visit will also see Meghan and Harry meet with King Mohammed VI. 

The couple will then travel to Rabat airport where they will catch their flight back to London later this afternoon. 

Sunday night saw Meghan pull out all the stops in a in a sweeping kaftan-inspired Dior gown as she joined husband Prince Harry for a reception at the British ambassador’s residence in Morocco.

Mother-to-be Meghan looked radiant in the custom crystal-embellished cream number, which she teamed with metallic heels, a favourite pair of £6,950 diamond earrings and a satin clutch, also by Dior.

Meghan seemed animated as she spoke with members of staff at the centre which is working to support children with special needs 

The mother-to-be could be seen gazing at her husband with adoration as he joked with workers on Monday morning 

The royal couple, who are on a three-day tour of the North African country, spent the evening mingling with captains of industry, military officers, disabled athletes and young business leaders.

Issuing a clarion call to feminists, Meghan told a group of female executives and entrepreneurs that women around the world need to push the boundaries to advance their cause. ‘Women have to challenge everywhere in the world,’ she said.

The evening event was hosted by British ambassador Thomas Reilly and his wife Leah at their official residence in the capital of Rabat – a city which has been rocked by riots in recent days.

The appearance rounded off a busy second day of engagements, which saw Harry, 34, and Meghan travel to the town of Ansi in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains to visit a secondary school and meet pupils. The Duchess, who impressed by speaking in French, also took part in a traditional henna ceremony.
