My wife got a tattoo even though she knows I hate them and now I think I should get a divorce – The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: MY wife has just got a tattoo on her forearm.

I hate tattoos, especially on women, and I think I should get a divorce.

We’ve been married for 12 years and have three lovely girls but it has been a struggle at times.

When we first met she showed me she had a tattoo on her thigh.

I told her I hated them but would try to accept it, as it was there before me.

We’re now 35 and a few weeks ago she told me she wanted another one.

She showed me an ugly design of a swan she wanted.

She couldn’t explain why.

We argued bitterly about it then she went off to the shop with her mate as planned.

I hate that tattoo and how she doesn’t respect my feelings.

I think this is the end.

DEIDRE SAYS: I do get how you feel.

It is her body, of course, and her right to have a tattoo, but you are married and your feelings should matter as well.

How is your marriage in other respects?

Do you enjoy each other’s company and being intimate?

Or does this feel like the final straw in a marriage that doesn’t work any more?
