Taylor Swift’s ‘Lover’ Officially Certified Platinum By RIAA

Republic Records has announced that Taylor Swift‘s latest album Lover has officially been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, or RIAA.

Platinum certification for a album from RIAA indicates that the album earned 1 million equivalent units in the U.S. One equivalent album unit, as recognized by the RIAA, is equal to: one album sale, 10 tracks sold from an album, or 1,500 on-demand audio and/or video streams from an album.

Swift’s Lover debuted at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart with 867,000 equivalent album units. All 18 tracks from Lover also entered the Hot 100 chart.

Lover‘s success also helped Swift return to the top of Billboard‘s Artist 100 chart for a record-extending 37th week.

The 2020 Lover tour will kick off on June 20 in Werchter, Belgium, with seven more dates slated in Germany, Norway, Denmark, Poland, France, Portugal and Sao Paulo, Brazil.

However, the lineup for next year only includes two U.S. cities. Swifties can catch her performance at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on July 25 and 26. The following weekend, July 31 and August 1, Swift will perform at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
