Sum 41 Cancel Paris Show After Explosive Device Detonated Outside Venue

Punk rock group Sum 41 were forced to cancel their show in Paris last Saturday following an explosion that took place outside the venue.

“During load in for tonight’s performance in Paris, an explosive device was detonated just outside the venue door,” Sum 41 explained in a statement.

Slated to play at the Les Etoiles club, the band also reported that the incident did not result in any injuries and that the various crew members and fans present remained unharmed.

“Due to the intimate nature of our ‘Personal Space’ performances, we are unable to guarantee the safety of the fans in attendance,” the band continued, adding that fans could redeem their tickets through the Live Nation ticket outlet and that a “make up” show is being discussed.

This is not the first time that the band has had to face these circumstances, as a series of explosions were set off in London on July 7, 2005, when they were scheduled to perform in the city.
