Mel B brands Eddie Murphy her soulmate and regrets bitter split

The Spice Girls star has opened up about her former relationship with the Hollywood star in a candid interview.

Mel B dated and Eddie Murphy briefly dated in 2006 and share 12-year-old daughter Angel together.

However, the singer has now hinted at having regrets over their split and revealed that something went “dramatically” wrong with her “soulmate” during their romance.

Scary Spice Mel made the bombshell admission on an episode of Piers Morgan’s Life Stories which will air on ITV on Saturday night.

The 43-year-old singer said she regrets that their relationship ended on bad terms, with the Beverly Hills Cop star initially denying that he was the father of their baby.

Mel explained: “We were both to blame. I wouldn’t have said that publicly and he apologises to this day about that.

“He wishes he never said it because that baby was planned; we planned that baby together and we were madly in love and it just went wrong, dramatically went wrong.”

Despite their acrimonious breakup, Mel said she still considers Eddie to be the “love of her life”.

She continued: “We had something special that I’ve never really truly felt with anybody else.

“I’ve thought I’ve had it, but they’ve lied. His was pure.”

The star added: “He is the love of my life. He always will be.”

She added that Eddie has shown her what “true love feels like” and that she admired and respected him for that.

Mel and Eddie first met at a party at his Beverly Hills mansion in 2006.

According to the Wannabe hitmaker, he had planned a “massive dinner party” to meet her.

She also shares daughter Madison, seven, with her ex-husband Stephen Belafonte and Phoenix, 20, from her first marriage to Jimmy Gulzar.
