'I’ve started realising it’s completely possible' – newly engaged Mark Feehily opens up about plans to have children

Mark Feehily has opened up about his plans to become a father.

The 38-year-old Westlife star got engaged to his long-term boyfriend in the Maldives last month and shared the happy news with fans on social media.

Speaking on tonight’s Jonathan Ross Show, Mark reveals their plans to start a family.

“That’s absolutely the dream, being gay you don’t always think about the possibility of having kids and then actually over the last few years I’ve started realising it’s completely possible,” he says.

“I’ve always naturally thought, ‘When I have kids…’ I love the lads’ kids, my brother has a daughter, there are kids everywhere and I absolutely love and adore them. I definitely see that as part of the future.”

Mark, who has managed to keep the identity of his fiancé secret, appears on the show alongside his Westlife band mates Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne and Shane Filan.

They also speak about their hard partying early days in the band and drinking vodka with Red Bull every night of their tour – a whopping 48 or 49 dates in a row.

“Pints of Vodka Red Bull. It was great fun. We can’t drink it now though,” says Shane.

Westlife, who are gearing up for their 20th anniversary tour, will also perform their new single ‘Better Man’.

Other guests on the sofa tonight are Love Island winner Dani Dyer, comedian Desiree Burch, and Line of Duty stars Vicky McClure and Adrian Dunbar, soon to be seen in a fifth series of the acclaimed crime drama.
