Inside Kelvin Fletcher’s family life with his wife Liz and their children

Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher, 35, is a fan favourite to win this year’s Strictly Come Dancing, but when he is not taking the dance floor by storm the actor is quite the family man.

Despite being paired up with stunning South African dancer Oti Mabuse, there is slim chance the star will fall victim to the ‘strictly curse’, a phenomenon that sees celebrities and their dance partners become romantically involved to the detriment of their off-screen relationships.

This is because the star is married to fashion buyer and actress Liz Marsland. Liz starred in the 2016 BBC drama In the Club and they met when they were children. In fact, the couple shared their first kiss when Liz was only eight years old.

They grew up just streets apart in Royton, Lancashire but they only got together two years after she has finished university.

Strictly Come Dancing fans were left in tears when he told viewers how he rekindled with his wife by chance after having lost touch. He said: "I'm in a random bar in Manchester and who of all people appears in the crowd dancing towards me!"

Kelvin has said he knew she was the one when he re-met her and that she completed him. The childhood sweethearts tied the knot in 2015, after Kelvin proposed on the beach during a romantic trip to Wales.

They wed in a lavish ceremony, reportedly costing £55,000, at London’s One Mayfair, a year to the day he had proposed.

Last weekend he performed on Strictly to Do I Love You (Indeed I Do) by Frank Wilson which was the couples wedding first dance song.

Ahead of the performance the 35 year old said: ”It will mean so much. When she walked down that aisle she took my breath away. Best moment of my life, it was just amazing."

"I just want Liz to know how lucky I feel. Thank you for giving me two amazing incredible children."

In the video Liz also appeared, and on the subject off her husband said: "He's everything, everything."

After the wedding the couple jetted straight to Rome for their honeymoon and it turned out to be a special night in more ways than one.

Speaking exclusively to OK! magazine, Kelvin said: "We’re pretty sure Liz fell pregnant on our wedding night. We then flew to Rome for three nights. Little did we know, there were three of us on our honeymoon!

“The day I found out Liz was pregnant and our wedding day were the most amazing days of my life. I’ve always wanted to have children and become a father, without question. I’ve been more certain of that than anything, even more certain than wanting to become an actor.”

On the 25 August 2016 their first child Marnie was born, after a dramatic labour where Eliza needed a blood transfusion. Speaking to OK! after the birth, Kelvin said: "I never imagined I could be so obsessed with a little person. I knew I'd be hands-on, but fatherhood is incredible."

Last December, Eliza then gave birth to their son, Milo, announcing the news to her Instagram with a picture of her cradling the newborn which she captioned: "This little one has finally arrived to join the family and our hearts are filled with so much love he is everything #thankyoumidwife."

Although we cannot say what the future may hold for the happy couple, if Kelvin’s wishes are anything to go by this may still be a growing family.

The Strictly star previously admitted that he has been broody since 17 and wants a big family with Eliza. “I want five children,” he said. “I do want a huge family, but ultimately, whatever will be, will be.”
