Game of Clones! Thrones fans dress up as beloved characters at viewing parties around the world to watch premiere of final season

Fans of Game Of Thrones flocked to viewing parties around the world Sunday to watch the premiere of the final season of the wildly popular HBO show.

Viewing parties planned in New York City, Los Angeles and London for the highly anticipated first episode of the six-episode eighth and final season.

Some fans at Professor Thom’s bar in New York City dressed as characters from the show based on the fantasy novels by George R.R. Martin.

One woman wore a long blonde wig and white dress in a nod to Daenerys Targaryen, played by English actress Emilia Clarke, 32.

Another woman wearing a black robe and fur over her shoulders carried a dagger as Arya Stark for the party at Professor Thom’s bar in NYC.

There were other viewing parties in NYC at Albatross in Queens, Arlo Hotel and East Village Tavern in Manhattan as well as gatherings at Parklife BK and Velvet Brooklyn in Brooklyn.

In the Los Angeles area, Brennan’s Irish pub in Marina Del Rey and Busby’s East in the Mid-Wilshire area were hosting viewing parties for fans.

In London, watch parties were planned at Shoreditch’s Book Club and The World’s End, with fans getting an opportunity to sit on the real Iron Throne at King’s Cross station.

Anticipation for the show reached a fevered pitch ahead of the season premiere on HBO as it was trending worldwide on Twitter.

The final season will span six episodes, the first two of which will run roughly the normal episode length at 54 minutes and 58 minutes.

The third episode will be the longest in series history, spanning 82 minutes, with the fourth episode spanning 78 minutes and the fifth and sixth spanning 80 minutes apiece.  

While some opted for a communal experience with strangers for the season premiere, others attended intimate viewing parties with family and friends.

Other fans of the show who were stuck at work shared photos on social media as they watched the episode on the job.
