EastEnders fans ‘work out’ secret Christmas storyline amid ‘new character’ revelation

Fans of BBC’s EastEnders are convinced that they have worked out the Christmas storyline, as newcomer George Knight has candidly revealed to Phil Mitchell that he has a secret son. The new lover of Elaine Peacock, George, played byColin Salmon, has arrived on Albert Square alongside his two daughters Anna and Gina (played byStrictly's Molly Rainfordand newcomer Francesca Henry), to help Elaine run the legendary Queen Vic pub.

Viewers were left stunned by the new revelation about George's son on Monday's episode, 5 June, and believe there is a twist on the way, just in time for the festive season. The identity of the son hasn’t been revealed and but fans think they could be seeing him on screen soon.

EastEnders fans know that one of the male characters will be killed off at Christmas with six female suspects. This was teased in a flashforward clip although it is yet to be revealed who is killed off.

There is speculation that it will be George who will be killed after the chat he had with Phil Mitchell where he revealed his son went “off the rails” and that he “doesn’t see much of him”. This has led to a new fan theory that the crime happens at George’s pub.

Unfortunately for fans, the conversation was short and George didn’t reveal any more details on his son. George’s daughters have not mentioned having a brother so it is unknown if they are in contact with him.

Fans wrote on Twitter that the secret son George mentioned on Monday had something to do with the soap twist this Christmas. One tweeted: "I am guessing this could all tie in with Cindy's return #TheSix”, while another said: “#Eastenders so George knight has a son who walked away the son’s choice. Wonder if a son is coming to WALFORD maybe with his mum”.

Another speculated: "George Knights son ends up dead on the floor at Christmas”, while a fourth added: "Missed the bit where George mentioned he has a son when talking with phil. Could he possibly have something to do with the six? Will he get introduced?”

It come after eagle-eyed viewers say they think they know the identity of George’s wife, following cryptic clues after the arrival of George. Fans believe that she is, in fact, a past character returning to our screens – and an evil one at that.

They're predicting thatCindy Beale is George's late wife. It would mean a return from the dead for Cindy, played by Michelle Collins, but the soap has history with miraculously pulling this off in the past.

Cindy supposedly died in prison during childbirth but some believe she might have faked her death over 20 years ago and now she's back.
