Curtis Pritchard breaks silence over ex Maura Higgins’ new romance with Chris Taylor: ‘I feel betrayed’

Curtis Pritchard has broken his silence on ex Maura Higgins’ new relationship with fellow Love Islander Chris Taylor.

The best friends confirmed their relationship recently sharing a glamorous snap while admitting they’d fallen in love with each other.

And despite the news being welcomed with open arms by fans and friends of the couple, Maura’s ex Curtis, who was on the reality show with Chris and his former girlfriend, has found it an unwelcome announcement.

Speaking about their new romance, Curtis told The Sun: “I feel betrayed by them both — two people I was very close to.

"When I saw the pictures, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel hurt. I was upset. How long has this truly been going on for?"

The professional dancer went on to say he feels the signs of a budding romance were there all along.

“If you look back on everything — and I am looking back on it now — I’m like, 'Curtis, all the signs were bloomin’ there, why didn’t you realise then?’” the star continued.

Curtis’ opinion of their relationship comes after the new couple shared snaps from Dubai as they celebrated Maura’s 30th birthday.

And during a night of partying in the UAE at WHITE nightclub, the pair cosied up for a romantic snap as they gazed in each other’s eyes.

Birthday girl Maura looked incredible in a sheer silver mini dress with sequined detailing, which featured a low-back.

The dress showed off the star’s amazing figure, while she wore her brunette hair up in a bun.

Maura gazed at Chris and put her arm lovingly on his chest, with her beau looking dapper in a black shirt and grey checked trousers.

He, meanwhile, smiled at Irish beauty Maura and snaked an arm around her back.

Maura made her feelings for Chris clear in her gushing caption on Instagram as she wrote: “You’re all I ever wanted @christophertaylorofficial.”

Besotted Chris replied in the comments section with: “The feelings mutual my little flutter,” along with love heart and kissing face emojis.

Maura and Curtis enjoyed a short-lived romance outside of the villa, and split earlier this year.

At the time of their split, Maura wrote in a short statement : "Curtis and I have made the decision to separate.

"We enjoyed a great experience from our time in the villa and want to thank everyone for supporting our relationship.

"There is no easy way to get through a breakup and no bad feelings on either side.

"We tried to make it work but it wasn't to be and I wish Curtis nothing but the best for the future.”

She finished the post to her story with a large broken heart emoji.
