Adele’s doctor reveals secret to how the star lost seven stone – and it wasn’t through exercise

Adele's Los Angeles doctor has shared the weight loss tips and tricks she gives to all her clients, insisting it's not just down to how much time you spend exercising.

The Someone Like You hitmaker, who reportedly spent thousands on "skimpy outfits" after dropping seven stone, stunned fans in early May after sharing a photo of herself looking incredibly slim for her 32nd birthday.

To achieve her new look, the star was recently reported to have had the help of a fitness guru who also trained Lady Gaga, as well as a chef that came highly recommended by Hollywood film star Cameron Diaz.

However, Dr. Dominique Fradin-Read has now come forward to dish out further secrets to how the star managed to gain her enviable figure.

Speaking to US Weekly, Dominique explained that slimming down is not solely down to exercise but also how you change habits that have seeped in to a person's wider lifestyle.

"I start by telling my patients that when it comes to weight loss, diet and exercise alone will not be enough in most cases," she told the publication.

"That is why many patients that come to us have tried to lose weight, they did lose somewhat but put everything back on and often even more.

"For a successful and sustainable weight loss, we need to look at the whole person and not just address the weight upfront."

She continued by insisting that the key to sustainable weight loss lies in forming new habits and letting go of old ones while also managing a person's mood, sleeping patterns and stress.

Dr. Dominique continued: "We look at habits – why is it that most of us will be good all day and crash at night?

"We evaluate stress and sleep. We talk about mood and mental health. When all these elements are addressed, then we can start a personalised diet…

"And recommend exercise as needed and it will work."
