What happens on December 3?

In the weeks leading up to December 3, users flood TikTok with videos referencing that particular date – and it's now become an annual tradition.

The trend refers to Conan Gray’s song Heather which plays in the background of all videos posted on that particular date.

And this is because of the songs very specific lyircs.

The lyrics to the song read: “I still remember, third of December, me in your sweater. You said it looked better on me than it did you.

The song continues: “Me in your sweater, you said it looked better / On me, than it did you, only if you knew / How much I liked you.”

Many TikTok users hope that December 3 will result in them becoming lucky in love and that their secret crush will finally return their feelings with a gesture.

Some even mark the day by giving their sweater to the person they're interested in.

When did the TikTok trend start?

The trend first originated in 2020 when American singer Conan Gray released his song, Heather.
