Top Republicans are speaking Friday at the first day of the 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference, with names like Donald Trump Jr., Sens. Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, Tom Cotton and Rep. Matt Gaetz launching the weekend of events.

The event, which was moved from Washington, DC, to Orlando, Fla., due to coronavirus restrictions, kicked off Friday morning with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who noted the change in venue while touting his conservative governing style.

“Welcome to our oasis of freedom,” DeSantis quipped. “Florida got right. The lockdown states got it wrong.”

Other speakers scheduled to appear Friday include Sens. Mike Lee, James Lankford, Marsha Blackburn, Rick Scott and Tom Cotton, as well as Reps. Madison Cawthorn and Mo Brooks.

Donald Trump Jr. will headline Friday’s lineup.
