Trump to focus on economic accomplishments at G-7 summit

President Trump headed to France Friday night for the G-7 summit of world leaders, where he will have bilateral meetings with the leaders of most of the other nations attending to discuss economic, trade and other issues.

Speaking before the US and China exchanged tit-for-tat tariffs, administration officials said Trump would focus on his economic agenda and accomplishments during the three-day conference in the coastal town of Biarritz.

Other sessions there will focus on gender equality, climate change and partnering with several African nations.

Trump was to meet with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, French Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

An informal dinner is scheduled for the leaders on Saturday.
