Trump Jr. jokes that socialists will lead to Americans eating dogs

Donald Trump Jr. took a jab at Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in an Instagram post that suggested the Democratic socialist ideology she supports would lead to Americans eating dogs.

The meme, posted Thursday night for his 1.5 million followers, shows two photos stitched together — one of Ocasio-Cortez and one of his commander-in-chief father.

Under the photo of Ocasio-Cortez, text reads: “Why are you so afraid of a socialist economy?” and under the image of Trump it says: “Because Americans want to walk their dogs, not eat them.”

Trump Jr. captioned the post: “It’s funny cuz it’s true!!!” along with crying-laughing emojis and emojis of the American flag.

His post garnered more than 58,600 likes by Friday morning and drew both support and criticism from commenters.

“Game, Set Match to President Trump!” Instagram user southerntoolman commented.

User pblong79 commented: “As ignorant as his father.”

Ocasio-Cortez cruised to victory in November’s midterm elections after beating longtime Rep. Joe Crowley in a Democratic primary upset in June.
