Flat caps similar to the ones worn by King Charles III sold out at the Royal Sandringham estate shop in Norfolk just two weeks after he took to the throne.

The Classic Sandringham tweed caps, which cost £49.99, have become one of the bestselling items in the estate shop just days after Charles became King.

King Charles, 73, took over the running of the estate four years ago and is regularly pictured wearing a flat cap when he is out and about in the countryside.

The caps, which are 100 per cent pure wool, are handmade in Scotland by family business Johnstons of Elgin.

A description on the shop’s website states: ‘Classic Sandringham Tweed Cap, add a distinguished finishing touch to your outfit with a traditional tweed Cap in a distinctive heritage design.’

The small-sized flat caps have now been re-stocked and are available to buy online.
