San Diego Comic-Con 2021 – What is on this year?

SAN DIEGO Comic-Con is putting on its annual spectacular show this weekend starring some of the biggest franchises and fan favorites.

The likes of The Walking Dead, Chucky, Snake Eyes, Masters of the Universe: Revelation, and the Dexter Revival will take to the virtual stage in this weekend's event.

What is the Comic-Con?

Comic-Con is the world's largest comic book convention that celebrates the works of comics creators, science fiction and fantasy authors, film and television directors, producers, and writers in San Diego.

From the first event held in 1970, it now continually develops to include a vast variety of pop culture and entertainment. It is regarded as the "largest convention of its kind in the world."

Attendees enjoy panels, seminars, and workshops with comic book pros and even get sneak previews of upcoming films, comic books, and video games.

There are also fun events to compete in such as the annual Masquerade costume contest, and the Comic-Con International Independent Film Festival.

Thousands of cosplayers dress up as their favorite characters for the renowned annual event.

Due to Covid, Comic-Con has again been adapted as a virtual event this year, spanning over three days instead of five.

What happened at the last Comic-Con?

Instead of drawing huge crowds as it typically does, last year Comic-Con were also forced to reinvent the occasion virtually due to the pandemic.

But it still impressed fans with fun and revealing panels, such as the cast of What We Do in the Shadows discussing their on-set antics and the Family Guy gang reading through a hilarious script from Season 4.

It was followed by amazing releases of trailers, dates, and episodes of The Walking Dead, teases of Star Wars: The High Republic, and a reel of unseen footage from favored sci-fi shows.
