Rudy Giuliani says Donald Trump DID repay Michael Cohen £100k Stormy Daniels hush money

DONALD Trump’s new lawyer claims the President repaid attorney Michael Cohen the Stormy Daniels hush money.

Rudy Giuliani contradicted Trump’s own statements last month on-board Air Force One, when he told reporters he didn’t know about the £100,000 allegedly paid to cover up the scandal.

In saying Trump actually made the payment, Giuliani told Fox's Sean Hannity that it “is going to turn out to be perfectly legal” because “that money was not campaign money.”

But he also said it was paid back "over several months" – which is illegal for Presidential candidates, and punishable with five years in jail.

“Trump didn’t know about the specifics of [the hush money agreement], as far as I know,” Giuliani said later.

“But he did know about the general arrangement that Michael would take care of things like this, like I take care of things like this for my clients. I don’t burden them with every single thing that comes along."

He added: “[They] funnelled it through a law firm, and then the president repaid.

How Donald Trump could go to JAIL over claims he repaid hush money in installments

Donald Trump could face legal woes after Rudy Giuliani's claim that he reimbursed £100k hush money over the Stormy Daniels scandal 'over the course of months'.

Presidential candidates must report transactions exceeding £7,500 ($10,000) to the federal government in a Currency Transaction Report to prevent money laundering.

It is illegal to break a big payment into smaller ones to dodge this rule.

The maximum penalty is five years in prison and a fine of £184,000 ($250,000).

When asked if he knew about the payment to Daniels last month, Trump said “No.”

Trump added: “You have to talk to Michael Cohen, he’s my lawyer.”

Daniels lawyer, Michael Avenatti, called the admission “a stunning revelation.”

“Mr Trump evidently has participated in a felony and there must be serious consequences for his conduct and his lies and deception to the American people,” Avenatti said in a statement.
