Royal Navy sailors filmed passed out after 'trashing training base and throwing fridge out window in drunken rampage'

THIS is the shocking moment Royal Navy sailors were filmed passed out at their trashed training base after a "drunken rampage".

The footage shows a mattress, table, chair and small fridge lobbed from the first floor window with empty booze bottles scattered in the room.

A bed has also been upended, while papers litter the floor of the trashed bedroom at HMS Sultan training base in Portsmouth, Hants, The Mirror reports.

One sailor appears to be asleep on a bed fully-clothed with food slathered on the floor by the other bunks.

A second clip then shows stunned seniors inspecting the damage once the rookies have vanished.

One of them says: “What is that? Jesus.”

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

Another replies: "Nobody in at the moment, alright.

"So, Warren, can you get in contact with the class. Wherever they are. Make sure that these four guys are safe.

"Lets walk out, leave it as it is. Alright."

An investigation has now been launched at the naval base following the footage.

The Navy took steps to tackle binge drinking after shooting of a commander on a nuclear powered submarine by a drunken colleague.

Lt Cdr Ian Molyneux was gunned down and killed by Able Seaman Ryan Donovan on nuclear submarine HMS Astute in Southampton in April 2011.

Donovan injured two others after firing seven shots in 13 seconds and was caged for life in 2011.

Mike Critchley, a retired lieutenant commander, told The Mirror: “The situation will be viewed pretty seriously by command at Sultan and appropriately punished.

" I would expect the sailors involved to be docked their pay and their leave.”

A Royal Navy spokesman said: “An investigation is under way. It would be inappropriate to comment further.”
