Queensferry Crossing crash leaves car flipped onto its roof and sparked rush-hour chaos

Emergency services raced the Queensferry Crossing to assist with the pile-up on the M90 near Junction 1.

Traffic cameras showed lengthy queues on the road while the motorway lanes were completely blocked by the flipped motor.

The incident which involved three vehicles took place around 7.40am.

Police confirmed that lanes one and two reopened around 9am.

Traffic Scotland said on Twitter: "M90 southbound – traffic now getting passed in lane 1 of 2, congestion back to before the QFC at Ferrytoll."

 

One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries following the crash.A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We received a call at 7.37am today to attend a road traffic collision on the Queensferry Crossing.

"We dispatched one ambulance and a manager to the scene.

"We transported one patient to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary."
