‘Paedo’ faces 15,000 YEARS in jail for 864 rape and sex attacks on five-year-old boy

Garrick Bloom, 46, was wanted in connection with the alleged attacks after cops said he had been grooming the victim since the age of five.

Bloom, from Shippenville, Penns., was arrested at a homeless shelter near a school bus stop in Tallahassee, Florida, last Thursday after a warrant had been issued for his arrest in Pennsylvania last month.

The accused has been charged with 216 counts of the rape of a child, 216 counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, 216 counts of aggravated indecent assault of a child, 216 counts of statutory sexual assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, local media have said.

Out of the 865 charges against Bloom, 648 are felonies in the first degree which can carry 20-year sentences per count.

In addition, statutory sexual assault is a second degree felony which can carry a ten-year prison sentence per count.

If convicted on all counts, Bloom could face over 15,000 years imprisonment.

That's a high traffic area for children getting off school buses… It would have only been a matter of time

According to Explore Clarion, Child and Youth Services in Clarion County told State Police on October 25, 2018 that a juvenile male was being sexually assaulted by Bloom.

It's reported the victim told investigators that he was forced to perform oral sex on Bloom on numerous occasions.

Court records reportedly indicate that Bloom began to groom the victim when he was five-years-old and continued to sexually assault him for several years.

He initially denied the accusations but later admitted to sexually assaulting the boy, it's reported.

Local media reports that Bloom was captured by police outside of the Kearney Centre by the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

He had been staying at the homeless shelter for two days but had evaded authorities since the arrest warrant was issued on January 16.

Speaking of the arrest, Deputy Commander Marty West told the Tallahassee Democrat: "That's a high traffic area for children getting off school buses. Having a predator like that hanging around Tallahassee, it would have only been a matter of time."

Deputy Commander West reportedly said Bloom's arrest had "made the streets of Tallahassee safer."

Bloom is being held at the Leon County Detention Facility in Florida pending his extradition back to Pennsylvania.
