One dead and others injured after truck hits pedestrians in Sydney

One person has died and more have been injured after a truck crashed into pedestrians in Sydney.

Emergency services were called to Botany Rd in Alexandria just after 7.45am local time following reports of a crash.

One pedestrian is known to have been killed and at least six others have been seriously injured.

The driver of the truck is still trapped inside the vehicle, with crews working to free him.
