The couple were finally able to have their dream wedding at the Crossbasket Castle in Blantyre and enjoyed the day alongside her son and their 50 guests.

Speaking about the special day, Natalie said: ‘It really was the best day of my life, second only to the day our baby was born.

‘Zeke is our whole world and one of the reasons we were so desperate to get married was so he will always have beautiful memories of our special day.

‘I did not think I would live to see this day especially after doctors told me to move it forward and then it kept being postponed due to Covid restrictions or me being really ill.’

Natalie wore a beautiful fishtail-style layered ivory dress, with her hair pulled together into a curled up-do with a veil and head piece attached.

The mother of one and her bridesmaids, Charlene and Debbie Mcinally, carried exquisite bouquets of pink peonies.

During the special day the couple slow danced to Edwina Hayes’s song Feels like Home and tucked into a cake given to them by Natalie’s colleagues.

Natalie was diagnosed with Grade 3 Triple-Negative breast cancer in October 2019 and under went treatment – leading to doctors informing her she was cancer free in May 2020.

The following month doctors looked into a painful lump she found in her breast and gave her the devastating news she had six to 12 months to live.

In a bid to try and combat her cancer she has restarted radiotherapy and is undergoing a drug treatment, Talazoparib.

She acknowledged that she will not be able to cure her cancer but hopes her alternative medicines, such as a cannabis oil and drinking ionised water, will help prolong her life.

Natalie was given her first cancer diagnosis just 18 months after she and Idress began dating. He proposed to her in January last year, while she was undergoing treatment.

She is now beginning to plan her funeral, such as what music she wants to be played, to make things easier for her husband.
