This is the moment the deputy head of Hamas intelligence who helped plots the Israel terror attack is killed by an Israeli air strike.
In footage posted to X, a missile strikes several buildings which swiftly collapse, causing clouds of smoke to billow into the sky.
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF), which shared the video, said the air strike killed Shadi Barud, the deputy head of Hamas intelligence who they accuse of being behind the October 7 attacks that killed hundreds of Israeli civilians.
An IDF spokesperson said on X: ‘Fighter jets, guided by accurate intelligence from the Amman and the Shin Bet, today killed the deputy head of Hamas’s intelligence department, Shadi Barud.
‘As part of his previous position as head of the attack department at the Hamas operations headquarters, Baruf planned with Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in the Gaza Strip the attacks that were carried out in the murderous raid in Israel on October 7.

‘Barud also served as a battalion commander in the Khan Yunis sector and was involved in planning several terrorist attacks against Israeli citizens.

‘After that, he held several positions in Hamas’s military intelligence, and was responsible for the organisation’s information security.
‘Also, he is responsible for intelligence relations for the benefit of the organisation.’
This comes after Israel’s envoy to the United Nations has accused Iran of training and funding Hamas and said it should not have a seat at the UN.
Meanwhile Iran’s foreign minister has said Hamas is ready to release civilian prisoners, while also saying the world should support the release of 6,000 Palestinian prisoners.
Israel’s incursion of Gaza started last night and the death toll in Gaza has risen over 7,000 civilians – 3,000 of which are children – according to the Hamas-controlled Palestinian health ministry.
Israel continues its aerial bombardment of Gaza today after tank raids on the territory overnight.
‘Nowhere is safe in Gaza,’ Lynne Hastings, UN humanitarian coordinator for the occupied Palestinian territory, said in a statement.
‘When the evacuation routes are bombed, when people north as well as south are caught up in hostilities, when the essentials for survival are lacking, and when there are no assurances for return, people are left with nothing but impossible choices.’
