In the clip, the delivery driver is seen walking up the driveway of a customer to hand over their small package.
Standing on the doorstep, the man notices Yoshi, a friendly half-Siamese, half-Burmese cat approaching him.
The cat sits down next to the driver, and allows the man to pet him for a few seconds.
But as the driver finishes scanning the package, he puts it down on the doorstep and picks up the cat before walking off.
The cat owner, who lives with his wife and two children, confronts the driver and can be heard saying: ‘Why are you trying to take my cat and put it in your boot?’
Seconds later the homeowner appears, and runs down his drive to confront the man.

But the driver only replies ‘nothing’ before adding ‘I said sorry’ when the clip ends.
‘I had never seen this driver before as Amazon always sends different drivers,’ the owner, who wants to remain anonymous, told MailOnline.

‘When I opened the door I could see him bending over putting the cat close to his van which I thought was strange, but when I came around the corner I saw him put the cat in the van, that’s when I confronted him.
The owner believes the suspected attempted theft was motivated by money: ‘He’s an expensive looking cat, silver with blue eyes, a lot of Siamese have green eyes but he has bright blue eyes’.
‘On the day I first asked him to give me his manager’s number, but I don’t think it was his manager I spoke to because he didn’t seem apologetic when I called.’
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: ‘Police were contacted following an incident on Monday, 25 January by a man reporting that a delivery driver had attempted to steal his cat.
‘There have been no arrests; enquiries into the investigation continue’
