Massive fire breaks out at Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Gang Camp in Connecticut

A massive fire erupted Friday at Connecticut’s Hole in the Wall Gang Camp founded by late actor Paul Newman, a report said.

Multiple buildings at the camp in Ashford were on fire, NBC Connecticut reported, citing the Tolland County Dispatch.

It was not immediately clear how the blaze started or whether there were any injuries.

The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp was founded in 1988 by Newman to provide opportunities for children with serious illnesses “to experience the transformational spirit and friendships that go hand-in-hand with camp,” a website for the camp says.

The camp has full medical facilities on-site to provide children with the care they would normally receive in a hospital setting, NBC Connecticut noted.
