Man, 25, in court over murder of pregnant Kelly Mary Fauvrelle and manslaughter of her baby Riley in Croydon – The Sun

THE 25-YEAR-OLD alleged killer of a heavily pregnant woman and her baby in Croydon has appeared in court today.

Aaron McKenzie is accused of murdering Kelly Mary Fauvrelle, 26, who was eight months pregnant when she was stabbed to death in her bed in the early hours of June 29.

He is also accused of the manslaughter of her baby son, Riley.

Riley, who was named by his relatives, was delivered in an emergency C-section at the scene in Thornton Heath, South London, but died four days later on July 3.

McKenzie, from Peckham, South London, is also charged with possession of a knife today.

He was arrested on Thursday and stood at the dock at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court, wearing dark blue jeans and a grey jumper, with his arms folded during the brief hearing.

McKenzie only spoke to confirm his name, date of birth, and that he is British, but he did not give his address.

He was not asked to enter a plea to any of the charges.

District Judge Karim Ezzat told him he will next appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday for a bail hearing.

McKenzie has another hearing at the same court on August 12.
