A stunning Eco-mansion once featured on the TV show Grand Designs has now been renovated and transformed into a £300-a-night B&B attracting soap stars and footballers.
Called the Dome House, the luxury £1million property nestled in the countryside of Bowness-on-Windermere in Cumbria offers the perfect staycation as lockdown restrictions begin to ease.
The award winning property, which featured on Grand Designs in 2010, comes complete with three luxurious suites, a private apartment and the one-of-a-kind ‘Dome Room’ – a large open space for all guests to use – which features a log fire, bar and large windows overlooking the Lake District and the hills of Bowness.

The retreat is situated just under a mile away from the World of Beatrix Potter and is close to the iconic Lake Windermere.

Since featuring on Grand Designs more than 10 years ago, the property has undergone an extensive renovation, which transformed the property from a magnificent home to a beautiful guest house.
Its previous owner, architect Robert Gaukroger, built Dome House in 2010 after buying a plot of land from his neighbour, Jane Moore.
But the building was abandoned and left in a state of disrepair after a dispute which saw Mr Gaukroger owe Ms Moore £55,000 in legal fees.
The dispute claimed that Dome House was built over a piece of land that Ms Moore still owned.

Mr Gaukroger is said to have not informed Ms Moore about his plans to use the property as a B&B, and removed the house from booking sites as he tried to sell it on in order to pay back the £600,000 loan he owed.
Ms Moore also claims she was left with a £10,000 repair bill after the front gate to the entrance of her property was damaged by builders.
Now owned and operated by husband and wife Phil and Joyce McGuire, a one night stay at the beautiful property will cost anywhere up from £209 per night.
A three night romantic getaway for two couples could cost £313 each.
