Jailed paedo Gary Glitter ‘to lose future royalties from song used in new blockbuster Joker movie’ – The Sun

PAEDO Gary Glitter could lose future royalties from the use of one of his songs in the new Joker film.

The inclusion of 1972 hit Rock and Roll Part 2 has already earned him hundreds of thousands.

But studio Warner Bros is understood to be looking into whether it can be removed from the streaming release and DVDs.

Bosses are said to be “sickened” by the backlash over the tune choice.

A source said: “The furore shocked many at the studio and had some executives scrambling over what to do next.

Some want it removed and expect to get their way.

'SICKENED'

“It is now in the hands of lawyers who are talking to Glitter’s publishers.”

Royalties are paid based on how well the film — starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Batman villain — does in cinemas, plus soundtrack and DVD sales.

It is thought to be too late to re-edit in its theatrical form. But Glitter’s payday could be restricted if the song is axed from future versions.

Insiders say director Todd Phillips has been part of the discussions.

Glitter, 75, is serving 16 years at HMP The Verne, Dorset, for attempted rape, indecent assault and sex with a child under 13.

He was first locked up in 1999 for downloading images of child abuse.

Most UK broadcasters have blacklisted his hits. Warner Bros did not respond to requests for comment.
