How much are your 90s toys worth? From Tamagotchis and Sky Dancers to Polly Pocket and the Nintendo 64

Here's a rundown of some of the most popular toys from the era.

Sky Dancer

Twin brothers, John, and Anthony Gentile, came up with the idea for Sky Dancers wrangling an aviation expert and a sculptor that worked on Tim Burton’s “Nightmare Before Christmas” to create the flying doll’s design.

They flew high and twirled when a string was yanked.

The toy became wildly popular among young kids, especially when they found out they could launch the toy at their siblings.

Many of the toys were recalled for safety reasons which just increased their value.

They had an average original price of £8 but could now fetch around £64.

Tamagotchi

Tamagotchi’s were a nightmare for many parents’ with the handheld, virtual pets required incessant care and attention just to stay alive.

At the height of the craze, a frustrated mum told the Chicago Tribune: “I wake up every morning and something is dead.”

As is of then the case nostalgia has struck and along with a fair few other 90s trends, this toy has made a comeback with an original Tamagotchi in its unopened fetching up to £2,383.

They originally retailed for around £13.

Polly Pocket

These tiny dolls shot to popularity in the 80s and 90s coming in a variety of themes.

If you still have all the bits to your set you could be in for a bumper payday.

Reselling sites, like eBay, are best for selling these with the price varying depending on the rarity of the set.

A Sparkle Surprise Polly Pocket set could fetch £350 but if you have a complete version of one of the larger castle sets, you might be able to flip it for £1530.

Nintendo 64

The Nintendo 64 was a favourite among gamers fin the mid 90s and was one of the last devices to use cartridges rather than discs for the games.

It was named after its 64 bit central processing unit and had many smash hit games released on the platform including Lylat Wars, Zelda, Super Smash Bros and Goldeneye.

The consoles themselves are not going for a huge amount these days with prices on ebay ranging from £18.50 to about £92.

But with the right games you could really up the selling power.

One of the most in-demand cartridges is Mario Kart 64 with a mint condition cartridge in an unopened box being worth up to £595.
