Sofa so good: Four teenage cyclists wobble along a road carrying a COUCH on their heads and shoulders

  • Four 16-year-olds were carrying a sofa on their shoulders in Scunthorpe
  • They took the sofa, which was on the side of the road, for their ‘shed hangout’
  • Levi Moore, 24, filmed the boys as they cycled along a Lincolnshire road

A group of four 16-year-old boys cycled for three miles with a sofa balanced precariously on their heads and shoulders in order to furnish their ‘shed hangout’.

They sparked a social media storm when they were filmed cycling with the large piece of furniture in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, on Wednesday.

Jordan Sissons, Nathan Taylor Masters, Ethan Martin and Adam Pepper were out on their bikes in the town when they noticed the sofa on the side of the road.

Knocking on a door close by they asked permission to take it with them.

And even though they didn’t have any way to transport the sofa to their shed, where they were looking forward to finally having something to sit on, they had a bright idea.

One of the boys suggested they cycle the three miles home with it balanced between them.

Levi Moore, 24, filmed the teenagers as they wobbled along the road. He posted the video alongside the caption: ‘I’m nothing if not impressed.’

Commenting on the video Ewan Sommerville said: ‘Who needs a man with a van when you’ve got a man with a bike’.

And Grant Price added: ‘Take my hat off to them.’

Speaking today, Levi said: ‘I was a little shocked for a second when I saw them, but then I was laughing my head off.’

Adam is the cyclist in the video bearing most of the weight of the sofa on his head and back.

Jordan is on the left, helping to carry the sofa on his right shoulder. He said: ‘We needed a sofa in the shed so we didn’t have to sit on the floor.

‘One of my mates spotted the sofa and so we took it. We asked for permission though.’

‘To be honest we didn’t think anyone would record it or it would go viral. I feel happy about it because it’s funny and feels like we had a lot of attention.’
