A horse got itself in a bit of a night-mare after it fell into a sink hole leading it to be saved by firefighters.

Shocking photos show the black and white horse stuck in the ground. 

The frightened animal was found stuck in the sink hole at Cockfield Fell, County Durham when the firefighters arrived at the scene.

Calming the horse down, the firefighters tied a rope to the scared creature, managing to dig out a channel to create a step which helped the animal hope out of the hole on its own.
