E-bike riding bandits wanted for robbing food delivery workers: police

A pair of bandits riding around town on their e-bikes are wanted in connection to 22 robberies –– where in each case they targeted food delivery workers and snatched their bikes, police sources said Wednesday.

In the most recent incident, a 24-year-old delivery worker was unlocking his ride after finishing a delivery on West 46th Street in Hell’s Kitchen on Dec. 3 when the duo approached him just before 11 p.m., police said.

The delivery man was thrown off his bike and sprayed with an unknown chemical substance –– possibly pepper spray, according to police sources.

The duo fled the scene, getting away with the victim’s ride, police added.

he other 21 robberies took place sometime between Sept. 13 and Dec. 3, each time involving the pair of suspects separating from each other, marking their victims, and pepper-spraying them before snagging their bikes, according to a police source.

In each of the 22 incidences, the suspects successfully got away with bikes — an unspecified amount being e-bikes, police said.

None of the victims were seriously injured during the robberies.
