A couple who splashed out thousands for a BA World Traveller Plus ticket for their 12-hour flight were left ‘disgusted’ when handed a croissant and cereal bar instead of the traditional full English promised.

The airline’s website promises a ‘traditional full English breakfast or a delicious continental breakfast accompanied by a selection of fruit juices and tea or coffee’.

‘It’s the only airline to fly to Grand Cayman so I can visit my grandfather so I have no choice. We paid to upgrade to World Traveller Plus where you’re supposed to get a lot more.
‘But, both flights, although we were only in row 14, ran out of decent meals so we had a choice of one meal which was awful on a 12 hour flight and you get one coffee with no choice of food.
‘The breakfast on the way back was the final straw. Not only was it small it was disgusting and not what you need after a long haul flight absolutely shocking. I have filed a complaint with BA.’

Mr Kro added: ‘It was disgusting both ways. Considering we were only row 14 I hate to think what was on offer by the time they reached the back.
‘We had paid extra and booked World Traveller Plus which in-fact was actually worse than the World Traveller Class.
‘We flew out on January 7 from Heathrow as these dates were on sale and were cheaper dates. In total the return flight was about £1,000.’
MailOnline has contacted BA for comment.
