  • Alleged victim’s lawyer said she was ‘crying hysterically’ after the alleged attack
  • She ‘comes from wealthy family’ and only wants to see alleged attacker punished

A 21-year-old British tourist who alleged that she was raped by a star of Greece’s Big Brother attempted to take her own life after the attack but was saved after being discovered by one of her friends, MailOnline can reveal.

The British woman was on holiday in Rhodes with three other female friends to mark the end of their university exams when she claims that she was attacked by Steve Milatos, 30, after he asked her to leave a night club with him.

Milatos, who was on Greece’s version of the reality show last year and is considered a social media influencer, denies the allegations.

The two initially met at Socrates bar, which is located in the town of Lindos, a popular night spot on the Greek island and where Milatos works.

After drinking a few shots, she alleges that he encouraged her and her pals to go to a nearby nightclub where he joined them at around 1am.

Ioannis Kokkinogenis, the woman’s lawyer, told MailOnline that while in the club, Milatos asked the woman to come outside for a ‘chat’ and then led her down a dark alley to an abandoned house where the attack is alleged to have taken place.

Mr Kokkinogenis revealed: ‘My client is in a very bad psychological condition. The rape happened in the early hours of May 24 and the complaint was made late at night on May 25.

Milatos (pictured), who was on Greece’s version of the reality show last year and is considered a social media influencer, denies the allegations.

‘Following the attack, she fled the abandoned house and ran to her friends screaming hysterically. They took her to their room, and she went to take a shower because she felt dirty. She then attempted to take her own life by slashing her wrists.

‘One of her girlfriends went in just in time and saved her.’

The lawyer revealed that the complainant is an English Literature student at a renowned university in the north of England but originates from London, where her family live.

He added: ‘The woman was on holiday in Rhodes from May 22 to May 27 to celebrate the end of university exams with three other female students.

‘On the night of the attack she only had two or three drinks. She is a student of English literature, comes from a very well-off business family and is not making any financial claims against the accused.

‘All that she asks for is for him to be punished for the crime of rape.’

A police report, based on the alleged victim’s testimony states: ‘She had come with four of her friends to Rhodes for holidays, in order to celebrate the end of the university exams and they all stayed together in Pefki.

‘As she reports, on Tuesday they all together decided to visit Lindos for dinner and entertainment.’

The report states that Milatos asked the woman to ‘come outside for five minutes’ and that she agreed to this.

The woman’s family have now flown out to Rhodes and she is due to return to the UK on Friday as the case against Milatos begins to move through the Greek legal system.

He is due to appear before a judicial interrogator on Friday, where he will be quizzed about what took place and Greek prosecutors will then decide if they should further pursue the charges.

If they do, it could take more than a year for a trial to take place.

Stelios Alexandris, Milatos’s lawyer, protested his client’s innocence.

He said: ‘None of what the lady is claiming about has happened. It is true that they met, and it is true that there was consensual intercourse. And that’s it. It is not I who claims that.

‘We are waiting for the forensic report that will prove what my client says.’

Reality star Milatos has more than 110,000 Instagram followers.

He has previously worked with major fashion houses including Diesel and has walks on the runway for Givenchy and Jean Paul Gaultier, according to Greek media.
