Atlanta Fogo de Chao shooting sees customers dive under tables as 'man at bar sipped from Hennessy bottle & fired shots'

CHAOS unfolded at a Fogo de Chao after a man at the bar reportedly starting shooting, sending customers diving under tables for cover in Georgia.

Atlanta police say they are investigating an officer-involved shooting at the Buckhead area restaurant.

Witnesses told FOX5 Atlanta a man entered the restaurant and sat at the bar, drinking from a bottle of Hennessy whisky.

Staff members told the outlet they tried to approach the man. But then he began shooting.

Multiple witnesses say they dove under tables to hide from the gunfire. Chairs were reportedly flipped over in the chaos.

It is unclear at this time if shots came from just the suspect or also from cops arriving on the scene.

No officers have been injured in the shooting, according to initial reports.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation is also responding, according to 11Alive.

Road closures are in effect in the area as a result of the shooting. Piedmont Road is closed off from East Paces Ferry Road to Peachtree Road.

Footage from the scene shows caution tape blocking off parts of the restaurant, as well as a stretcher.

First responders can also be seen tending to someone on the ground.

The situation is ongoing.
