Argentina: Dancers gather for 2018 Malambo Festival

Argentina’s top male dancers are gathering for the most important dance competition in the country.

It’s summer in Argentina, and dozens of cultural festivals are in full swing.

Organisers say one of them is unique.

The Malambo dance festival reflects the heart of Argentina’s traditions, as dancers compete in two styles reminiscent of the gaucho (horseman) dances of the 17th and 18th centuries.

The dancers are all men; they have trained for years with the dream of becoming dance champion.
