Alec Baldwin's daughter slams Candace Owens for saying Halyna Hutchins shooting was 'justice' for criticizing Trump

ALEC Baldwin's daughter has furiously blasted Candace Owens after she branded Halyna Hutchins' shooting death "poetic justice" for the actor's criticism of Donald Trump.

Ireland Baldwin took to social media to label the conservative pundit "disgusting" and "cancerous" as others accused Owens of using the cinematographer's tragic death as a "political opportunity".

Halyna was accidentally shot dead by Baldwin on the movie set for Rust last Thursday.

In a since-deleted tweet, outspoken commentator Owens wrote: "Alec Baldwin spent 4 years dedicated to painting Donald Trump and his supporters as evil murderers.

"What has happened to Alec would be an example of poetic justice if it weren't for the actual innocent people that were murdered by him. Pray for their families. So sad."

After removing the controversial tweet, she then added: "Will correct that last tweet to say Alec Baldwin *killed* someone- not murdered someone, as murder carries a different legal definition.

"Literally not one single thing that Alec Baldwin has said about Donald Trump and his supporters is going to age well."

Her remarks sparked a flurry of outraged responses – including from Baldwin's daughter Ireland.

"You are the most disgusting, human, cancerous human being I've ever come across," the 26-year-old model wrote in a message on her Instagram Story.

"Regardless of your foul opinions most of the time, the fact that you would disrespect the life of a woman who was accidentally and tragically killed…Shame on you."

She later added: "Be a republican. Be unvaccinated. I don't give a f**k. There are plenty of liberal ones that I support as well… But one f***ing thing I find myself doing is being RESPECTFUL."

Her anger was echoed by countless other social media users, who branded Owens as "spineless" and slammed her for taking "perverse pleasure" in Hutchins' death.

“How horrible can anyone be to take perverse perverse pleasure in such a tragedy? Someone died and you’re basically sitting back and reveling in their accidental death,” one person wrote.

Another added: "I have a genuine dislike for AB but I would never wish an accident like this on anyone not even him… This is not a political opportunity.”

Baldwin – a lifelong Democrat – previously portrayed Trump on Saturday Night Live in 2019, provoking a response from the ex-president as he tweeted: "Nothing funny about tired Saturday Night Live on Fake News NBC!"

'NOT RESPONSIBLE'

It comes after Halyna's distraught father insisted Baldwin was not responsible for her shocking death.

Speaking for the first time since the tragedy, Anatoly Androsovych said the blame lay instead with the movie armoury team who handed the actor a loaded revolver.

Ukrainian Anatoly told The Sun on Sunday: “We still can’t believe Halyna is dead and her mother is going out of her mind with grief.

"But I don’t hold Alec Baldwin responsible — it is the responsibility of the props people who handle the guns.”

Court records stated assistant director Dave Halls, 62, handed a vintage-style Colt to Baldwin, and indicated it had no live rounds by yelling: “Cold gun!”

It also emerged the person in charge of weapons, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, 24, spoke of her inexperience for the role only last month.

Baldwin, who said his heart was “broken” by the tragedy, has been reassured that he is a “free man”.

But the star, also the movie’s co-producer, is facing scrutiny after details emerged of on-set chaos.

ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING

A five-page affidavit, signed by a cop, told how Halls had grabbed the revolver and handed it to Baldwin during a filmed rehearsal of a church gunfight scene.

It said: “The Assistant Director did not know live rounds were in the prop gun.”

On the 12th day of a 21-day shoot, Baldwin was preparing to film a scene in which he pulls a gun out of a holster, according to a source.

Cinematographer Halyna was huddled around a monitor lining up her next camera shot, with Souza crouched behind her.

Baldwin removed the gun from its holster once without incident, but when he did it again it fired.

A single bullet hit Halyna in the chest and ripped through her before striking Souza.

Halyna was rushed to hospital, but died from her injuries.

Now, the rookie armorer in charge on Baldwin's movie Rust is "lawyering up" after he accidentally shot Halyna dead – as worried friends say she has "gone dark", The Sun has revealed.

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who has been described as "green and inexperienced" by former co-workers, is laying low as her family frantically search for the right lawyer to represent her.

A source close to the 24-year-old exclusively told The Sun: "Her family are supporting her and helping her look for a good lawyer – they feel she's going to need one."
