Aer Lingus passenger plane forced to make emergency landing at Dublin after 'hitting something during take-off'

A PLANE was forced to make an emergency landing at Dublin Airport this morning after it “hit” a mystery object during take-off.

Firefighters raced to the scene after the AerLingus flight to Leeds Bradford had to return to the tarmac in the early hours.

One witness said: “Aircraft performs emergency landing at Dublin Airport, Ireland after hitting something during take-off.”

A spokesman for the airport confirmed there was an “emergency” incident.

They added: “There was an aircraft emergency this morning involving a Stobart aircraft which operates a number of routes for Aer Lingus.

“The aircraft was flying from Dublin to Leeds Bradford when it had to return to Dublin Airport.

“The aircraft landed safely and without incident.”
