2 arrested in Lethbridge drug bust

Two people are facing charges after an Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams investigation led to a drug seizure in Lethbridge.

On Feb. 8, ALERT’s organized crime and gang team executed a search warrant at a home in the west end of the city.

Inside the home, police said they seized more than $10,500 worth of drugs, including cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, Oxycodone, MDMA and LSD.

Police also found nearly $5,500 in cash proceeds of crime, along with a set of brass knuckles.

The investigation began in January of this year and Staff Sgt. Leon Borbandy was pleased the teams were able to keep the drugs from hitting the streets.

“This quick action speaks to ALERT’s commitment to working with local police to make communities like Lethbridge safer,” he said in a news release.
